Francois Lurton Winery

François Lurton comes from a family with a respected tradition of making wine in France. Representing the 5th generation of the Bordeaux Lurton Family, François Lurton set up his own business in 1988 firstly with his brother Jacques.

Hacienda Araucano is a boutique, organic and biodynamic winery, owned by François Lurton since 1996, in the same year François produced his first wine “Gran Araucano” Cabernet Sauvignon. Through the years the wine has been awarded Best Cabernet Sauvignon of Chile (three times actually) in the prestigious competition of the Wines of Chile Awards.

Today, François Lurton owns Hacienda Araucano (Chile), Bodega Piedra Negra (Argentina – Uco Valley), Campo Eliseo (Spain) and Mas Janiel (France).  All four wineries follow his organic and biodynamic philosophy of making exceptional wines.
