Whether you are looking to enjoy a romantic getaway or wine tasting adventure, our overnight wine escape package is the perfect way to unwind and experience some of the best wines in Colchagua Valley, Chile.
Just 2 1/2 hours from Santiago, you will spend 2 full days visiting Colchagua Valley’s famous wine cellars where you will learn local wine making, savor delicious food and enjoy some beautiful scenery.
Begin your day from Santiago towards the Santa Cruz town and heart of Colchagua Valley. Your first stop of the day will be at the Viu Manent Winery which is over 80 years old and has won many prestigious awards. Most recently as the best visitor center 2018 by Drinks International. The wine tour consists of visiting the bodega in a horse drawn carriage before heading back to the winery for a tasting.
Following the tour, you will have a delicious country style lunch at the Rayuela Wine & Grill where you will be able to enjoy your meal overlooking the vineyards and equestrian field at Viu Manent.
Following your relaxing lunch, you’ll be taken to the colonial style MontGras Winery for a tasting of their ultra premium wines.
You will checkout of the hotel and head to Apalta Valley, which is a sub valley of Colchagua Valley and a premier wine growing area. Our first stop is Clos Apalta Lapostolle winery, created by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle of the Marnier family (Gran Marnier Brandy Liqueur). As you approach the winery you will see several large wooden beams — 24 in total which represents the 2 years required to produce the “Clos Apalta” wine (the only wine exclusively produced at this location).
Our next stop is Montes Winery, designed under Feng Shui principals and known for their semi-circular underground cellar where they play Gregorian Chants to their ultra premium wines.
For lunch, you will dine at Fuegos de Apalta, a new restaurant by renowned chef and restaurateur Francis Mallmann. The restaurant sits just behind the Montes winery overlooking the vineyards from the enclosed glass structure. The food is a fusion of Argentine-Chilean and the dishes (grilled meats and fish) are prepared over an open fire pit which you can’t miss on your way into the restaurant.
To end the day, you’ll enjoy Neyen winery, which is over 100 years old and the oldest winery in the Apalta Valley. Neyen is an organic and biodynamic winery and produces only one bottle which is a camernere and cabernet sauvignon blend. The percentages of the blend changes yearly depending on the weather and you will taste two different years. A perfect way to end your trip to Colchagua Valley!
